Hottest Flash Drive Designs For Teens

Posted by Bryan Karl | Tuesday, June 30, 2009

FlashDealer.com brings us the hottest flash drive designs for everyone. FlashDealer.com offers custom flash drives for both personal and business use. Getting a custom design for your flash drive is something worth pondering about. Aside from it not being too much expensive, there are also benefits to having it.

On the personal side, having a custom flash drive is one way to speak out your nature, your interests, your advocacy, or your taste. Aside from the uniqueness it brings, having a custom looking flash drive is cool and something to be proud about. Teenagers would probably be the top market for custom designs for flash drives.

On the business side, custom flash drives may be used for branding. Possible designs for business flash drives may be the logo of the business or company or something similar to it. Because of the usefulness and portability of flash drives, these are widely used in business meetings and presentations. Having a catchy-looking flash drive would probably add something positive to a certain company.

Listed next are the top 5 hottest looking flash drives offered on FlashDealer.com. It says in the title "for teens" but adults can also have this one if they want to anyways.

Custom Shapes

If you want to be hip and unique, then have one of those shapes. The fire extinguisher flash drive design looks uber cool.

Pittsburgh Pill Style

Those on the medical field may love this one. Isn't it cute?

New York Style

Think New York -- glam, style, class and everything high. Look at the flash drive. Looks simple, right? But there is a distinct elegant touch to it, especially the leather lock and strap. Black and sleek.

Cancun Style

Think of your ordinary lanyard. But think farther. Think of a lanyard with a flash drive built on it? Cool, yeah? Talk about maximizing functionality at no cost of one's ease.

Dallas Style

Surprisingly, my classmate have one of these given by Microsoft during a conference with students. Who would know that the baller you are wearing is actually a flash drive? Great for sports bums.

Those 5 are for me, the hottest among the custom designs at the site. If I were to choose one, I'd choose the fire extinguisher one. It's so adorable, you know. How about you? Are you willing to pay for a custom jump drive? If you don't want one, a custom USB drive such as those above will make perfectly good gifts for techy people.

I just hope I get one during my birthday.

Memories of a Beach Bum

Posted by Bryan Karl | Tuesday, June 30, 2009

I grew up loving the sea. When I was a kid, I was accustomed to being brought to the beach every Sunday after my aunt goes to church. That became a habit since my aunt also has a beach house two towns away from our place. Well, that's the reason probably why I have "tanned" skin now.

All I could remember about those days are the walking sessions on the beach when the tide is low, seeing the different starfishes on the sea floor, avoiding the sea urchins and just strolling around. I also knew then childhood friends (which I have no contact with anymore) Ryan, Gladys and I forgot the others. It was Ryan and I who used to walk around rocks looking for fishes and even found a sea snake once. Those were the days, but the beach affinity doesn't stop there.

Until college, I still am addicted to the beach. Swimming is my thing. I always love to swim to the deep. For the past three years as a computer science student, we always have out acquaintance party on the beach. As usual, it won't be complete without me plunging into the water under the scorching heat of the sun. Talk about skin damage. During our Christmas two years ago, my friends and I also spent the party at the beach. One of the most memorable Christmas parties I got.

For this year, I think the next beach getaway would be for the acquaintance party again. Well I don't know with their plans, but I'm up for anything.

Christmas party with friends

The beach will always be a home for me. Its naturalness will always make me want for more. I just hope I could spend more time unwinding at the beach now at the busy moments of my life.

Outgrowing the TV Madness

Posted by Bryan Karl | Saturday, June 27, 2009

Have you ever been once too much attached to the TV? In short, TV addicted? I admit when I was young I've been addicted to watching TV. I wake up early during summer vacation just to watch Anime shows in AXN. I sleep late at night to watch local or Hollywood movies on cable TV. But that was years and years ago.

I realized that as we grow up, so do our priorities, hobbies and interests. Though some may be retained, a lot will have to go down as our age goes up. As I entered college, things shifted a little bit. TV wasn't so much important to me than when I was in high school. I remember this hilarious thing that I usually "run" home fast just to watch my favorite TV shows. But I realized in college that it was just a waste of time and energy though arguably, it was my source of happiness.

In college, my addictive tendencies got out from the TV box to the computer screen. Discovering a whole new and infinite world is more exciting than staring at the black box called TV. Until now, I am still addicted to the internet. Well not really excruciatingly addicted but in layman's terms, yeah, addicted. I rarely watch TV now. I know the current shows but I don't watch them. Before I used to watch news but now not anymore. Did I miss TV? A bit. But as long as the internet lives, the TV will not be on top priority.

How about you? TV or internet? It won't hurt to get the best of both worlds though.

Related gizmo for TV: Direct TV, aslo termed Satellite Directv - DirectTV will give a household hundreds of channels with clearer reception compared to cable TV.

T2 (2009) Movie Review

Posted by Bryan Karl | Thursday, June 25, 2009

Do you believe in enchanted beings? If yes, then you must watch T2. T2 or Tenement 2 is a horror movie directed by Chito Rono and starred by Maricel Soriano, Derek Ramsay and Mica dela Cruz. T2 basically is a movie of the clashing world of humans and "engkantos" (echanted beings).

T2 was released last April 11, 2009. I just watched the movie now due to the long break we had at school today. I expected it to be scary -- scarier than Drag Me To Hell which I watched two weeks ago. But watching it in an early afternoon aura didn't do much good to the fright factor.

Claire (Maricel Soriano) is a Save an Orphan Volunteer. She volunteered to bring to Manila from Samar an orphan Angeli (Mica dela Cruz) so she could live with her aunt. Along the way, in scary moments, Claire found out that Angeli is being stalked by engkantos. The story then came out that Angeli is a half-engkanto and some sort of unwritten rule states that children of engkantos with humans must be taken in by 9 or 18 years of age. Angeli is to turn 9 in a few hours. The ending part revolved in Tenement 2 in Taguig where Angeli's supposed aunt is living. T2 actually was dominated by a lot of engkantos. With the help of Rita, who've had similar experiences, they were able to save Angeli. The ending is Angeli thought she'd live a normal life, but her engkanto mom was still haunting her in the form of her teacher.

T2 had scary moments as well as not so scary moments. I got scared of the coffin. I hate coffins. The rest were a bit frightening but not much to give me insomnia tonight. Overall, T2 is one good Pinoy film. It is worth watching. I give T2 a 9 out of 10. I know it is higher than what I gave Drag Me To Hell. But T2 for me is better than that Hollywood film.

** Unrelated survey **

Since T2 is obviously not on theaters anymore, you could catch it up in download sites or use torrent. Enjoy watching T2!

I Dream of Hong Kong Again

Posted by Bryan Karl | Tuesday, June 23, 2009

I have been once to the beautiful and lively city of Hong Kong. But remembering it now, all I could say is that that was a swift vacation. We were actually rushing to get to as many as places as we can in a span of one week. That is why I really wanted to go back there with all things set and prepared so I would purely enjoy a Hong Kong style vacation. When we went there two years ago, we stayed in my aunt’s flat in Tung Chung. Probably the next time I’ll be there would be in an affordable hotel.

Looking at the Accor Hotels City Super Sale (which is for a limited time only), I saw one familiar building. Novotel Hong Kong Citygate is actually near the airport which means it is also in Tung Chung. No wonder I see it every time we go to the city centre. Since I have seen this unique looking hotel and surely I would love to stay in it the next time I go to Hong Kong.

A picture I took two years ago in Tung Chung using my 6300.

My plans for my next visit would be a slower destination jumping. I’d still go back to Disneyland if I could and ride the Space Mountain again. I love that roller coaster experience. I’d also go to the busy shopping centers of Hong Kong where a lot of Adidas stuffs are sold cheaply. That’s where I bought my sneakers. And also the electronics were cheap too. There are a lot of places to go in Hong Kong. One week is not enough to enjoy them 100%.

But all of this planning is just actually a plan. I’d like to do some traveling after I graduate so my Hong Kong Part 2 dreams would still have to wait.

Does Zac Efron Have A Girlfriend?

Posted by Bryan Karl | Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Zac Efron, who doesn't know him? A lot. But given the range of the new generation - kids, teens and young adults - Zac Efron is a name that is heard a lot of times not only in the entertainment scene, but also in the most unlikely places. Zac Efron is turning 22 this year. He is only 2 years older than me. He has made a lot of buzz especially with the come back of the musicals age. His first jump to stardom is through High School Musical. With 3 movies for HSM, Zac Efron is surely a young celebrity millionaire. His next big jump, and this one making producers and talent seekers applaud him, is the film remake of the hit musical Hairspray. Hairspray is a very good movie and Zac Efron as the main actor surely added to the greatness of the film. It is also through Hairspray that Zac's singing career was made to full blast. I still wonder though why he hasn't made any album.

So the question does Zac Efron have a girlfriend? Surely, the girl wouldn't be Vanessa Hudgens. They had been together until 2007 where they unexpectedly cut their romance. They were also not together anymore when the Vaness Hudgens scandal came out. So who is it? Well I don't know. It could be Miley Cyrus, it could be Amanda Bynes, it could be Megan Fox, who knows? The best thing for you to do is tune it to TV! Find clues or do anything. If you are really interested, then go look for that 'girl'. Or is Zac Efron gay? Doh.

My suggestion since you seem interested is to watch TV a lot. Listen to the latest Hollywood updates. In line to all of this TV stuff, we would like to thank Direct TV for bringing everyone the latest gossips and entertainment scoops right into their TV screen. So do vote Direct TV on the Best of the Best Awards also known as BoB Awards. Whatever this BoB Awards do, it would probably do good on your major satellite TV provider.

Mesothelioma: Cancer Caused by Asbestos Exposure

Posted by Bryan Karl | Wednesday, June 10, 2009

What is Mesothelioma? Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that is caused by over exposure to asbestos. What is asbestos? Asbestos is a kind of toxic mineral. Asbestos became increasingly popular among manufacturers and builders in the late 19th century because of its resistance to heat, electricity and chemical damage, its sound absorption and tensile strength (from Wikipedia).

There are still companies and manufacturers in the world that secretly use asbestos as a component of their products. When workers get over exposed to this mineral, malignant cells could develop in the mesothelium, a protective lining that covers most of the body's internal organs. Thus the name mesothelioma. The risk does not also come from inhaling the asbestos dust. Even if your wash an asbestos-infected garment, you could also get this cancer.

Some symptoms of mesothelioma include shortness of breath, chest pain, and a general symptom of weight loss. The diagnosis may be suspected with chest X-ray and CT scan, and is confirmed with a biopsy and microscopic examination.

But with all that health problems, workers under a company have more problems to face, and which are legal issues, more specifically compensation via asbestos funds or lawsuits. As I have said, some companies only reveal that they use asbestos components on their products when complications have already arisen. Because of this, legal issues usually become complicated as expected with workers trying to let the company for health finances and with the company trying to run away from absolute bankruptcy.

With health and legal issues at hand, a Mesothelioma Lawyer would be the best one to handle such situation. Some lawyers in this case have experiences and are to be trusted to give a worker what he deserves.

Training Online and On-site, Any Difference

Posted by Bryan Karl | Monday, June 08, 2009

The modern society already permits us to do e-learning, an online based teaching wherein the mentor and the student may be miles away from each other but a learning environment is created in virtual means. But is e-learning really the new way to acquire knowledge? Does it beat offline or on-site training where students are taught hands-on and face-to-face by the instructor? Is there no difference at all?

There is not only one difference obviously but there are a lot and some little small ones that differ online training (e-learning) from the traditional offline training (onsite training). Let us put cost behind as these two do really differ on that area. Let’s take a look on the capability of learning a lot. True, that in online training, one can learn because of the wide range of resources and with a teacher teaching virtually. But we cannot deny that on-site training is still better because of the wider span of mentor-student interaction that could occur which is actually healthy in learning. On-site learning does not need an internet connection or a capable computer, it only needs the teacher and the study materials (may not include the computer sometimes). The only downside to on-site training is that it is sometimes burdensome for either or both the teacher and the student’s schedule as their allotted times must coincide for the on-site training to happen (Note: student here may not mean student at school). With online training, you could study at your own pace (so they say) and you could do it anywhere and whenever you like.

The differences may be subtle but they are there. If you opt to learn out of school and have to choose between the two, make sure it fits your lifestyle and schedule. Choice is purely personal, you need not base it on others’ opinions, but base your choosing between e-learning and on-site training, yours.

Omio is the ultimate phone comparison site for UK mobile phones. Nowadays, with the trend of online shopping, it would be best to do a thorough canvassing first before purchase. 5 Things To Make Your Kitchen Look WOW

Posted by Bryan Karl | Thursday, June 04, 2009

Who doesn't want to eat? We all do. We need to. And some of us are also gifted with the art of cooking. What motivates cooking skills? A lot. And that includes a modern-feel kitchen equipped with the sleekest thingamagigs distributed around the area.

Our kitchen at home is very typical and ordinary. What would happen if it will indulge into a major revamp and transform to a modern kitchen? What are some things that would make a kitchen look great and not too ordinary? Here are 5 things you may want to add to your kitchen to make it look WOW. The images below are in particular order from 1 to 5.

  1. Stainless Steel Cheese Slicer - we all have graters at home but a smooth cheese slicer would complete the cheesy life. This is designed to make a very thin slice of cheese to go with any dish you have whipped up.
  2. Steel Egg Lifter - The Egg Lifter holds up to 6 eggs securely in place while boiling and allows for one hand removal after boiling. Practically and design infused in one boiling kit, what more could you ask for?
  3. Blomus ChromePaper Towel Holder - since spilling everywhere is a sign of an amateur cook, paper towels would always come useful. A good holder would obviously be a big and practical help. Plus a design that's simply elegant, who would not want to spill some liquid?
  4. Blomus Stainless Steel Bread Box - we usually have bread on its plastic here at home. We never thought of having a steel box for it. But for the classy household, why not? A steel box would look great with a sprinkle of bread crumbs on it.
  5. Steel Towel Clip - other than placing the towel on the refrigarator door handle, a unique towel clip would do much better. It is easy to place and easy to pull, that simple.

Those are only 5 of the many wonderful things you can add to give your kitchen a classy touch. All those are of course brought to us by The Stainless Steel Store.

Need a kitchen make-over? No worries, The Stainless Steel Store is there to assist. Or you may visit your local mall.

Another Semester Starts, Summer Ends

Posted by Bryan Karl | Tuesday, June 02, 2009

Just today, I got myself enrolled in another suicidal semester. I am actually entering my second to the last semester in college and I just hope I would graduate in time. The enrollment was a classic -- lines, sweat, running across buildings, waiting for advisers, etc. A classic I told you. Nine in the morning til 4 PM, enrollment. What a classic. But thinking about this one, I also feel how it is to leave one of the best summers of my life.

What I'll miss most of my summer is not the prickling heat nor the beach fun but the friendship and the company that I have experienced and gained in a span of two beautiful months. It started out in February when I joined Cebu Bloggers Society and got full blast in the summer. Now, I am close to a lot of them and I am having the time of my life when with them. We've had a lot of events during summer and we've built a strong bond amongst ourselves. CBS is where I truly belong.

I also went outside Cebu for the first time this summer. I went to Manila to do extraordinary stuffs and meet extraordinary people. I even missed Mother's Day because of my Manila trip (This reminds me that Father's Day is coming). The iBlog5 Summit and the Enchanted Kingdom event was a blast and I will never ever ever forget that event my whole life. I am sure of it.

Now the dilemma of getting back to school is hanging on my sleeves again. But I prefer school over work you know. But I have work on weekends. Sigh. I guess the next time I'll be seeing CBS in full blast would be on Christmas where I will demand a lot of Christmas gifts from all of them. Haha joking. Bye summer, hello semester!
