OJT Hunting, Not Easy

Posted by Bryan Karl | Tuesday, March 24, 2009

I thought at first that finding somewhere to have my on-the-job training would be an easy thing. I assumed the many IT companies in our place would be ready to welcome interested interns. But I guess not. Many companies don't even give a venue for OJT. Some have minimal training while others have not-so-related-to-your-field ones.

I started looking for companies mid-February. Now, it is almost April and I have no company to have my OJT yet. It is hard. By April, more students would be grabbing OJT positions on selected companies. The hype. I am not used to company hunting. I've been to the IT center in our place and with a bit of luck, I've been only interviewed once. I'm waiting for the callback. Tomorrow's another day for an exam and interview. I wish I would hit it this time. I'm tired of searching given the many schoolstuffs that eat 99% of my time. Wish me luck. Let me catch it.
