What with all the yells and tossing? 

Finally, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines or commonly called as the UAAP will be holding the annual Cheerdance Competition this month. And that would be tomorrow, September 6, 2008. Participating Univeristy Teams are (links to their 2007 cheerdance video): UP Pep Squad, UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe, FEU Cheering Squad, Ateneo Blue Babble Battalion, UE Pep Squad, Adamson Pep Squad, DLSU Animo Squad and NU Pep Squad. Last year's champion is the team of my school, UP Pep Squad. Watch the video of UP Pep Squad's cheerdance last year here.

Now, another battle of universities will begin. Watch for the Live Telecast of the Cheerdance Competition tomorrow (092608) at Studio 23, around 2:30PM. 

I hope UP Pep Squad will win again...and always. Go UP!

Our own cheerdance competition: University of the Philippines in the Visayas Cebu College will have its Intramurals 2008 on September 15, 2008. On that same day is the cheerdance competition to be participated by the following departments/divisions: Computer Science Department, Management Department, NSMD Division, Humanities Division and the Social Science Division. I belong to the Computer Science Dept and I also am a participant in the cheerdance competition. Currently, we did 3 meetings of practices and are not yet halfway of the whole thing. We have one week left (yes, Mon-Sun) to practice (hardcore) and it will be a very busy week for me since I would go home midnight everyday next week. And we have a looming long exam on Friday. Anyways, this is my second time to join the cheerdance team. I joined the pioneer cheerdance team of our department (since Com Sci became a department just last year) and we won third place. Talk about luck. Anyways, now, we are more confident of our cheerdance since we have a choreographer at hand. I think our cheerdance would be something the other divisions must be afraid of. Hehe, kidding. Here are pictures of our cheerdance last year:

I know our cheerdance looked so amateur but that's the best we can do and we still won third place. Our team color is hot pink that's why there's a lot of pink in our costume. This year's costume will be different -- it will be professional cheerdancer-style. Just watch out for pics if you want to know what we'll look like this year. 

Again, UAAP Cheerdance Competition 2008 will be on September 7, 2008, 0230PM @ Studio 23. UPVCC Cheerdance Competition 2008 will be on September 15, 2008 @ UPHS Grounds.
